Originally from Scotland, Neil came to Canada at the age of 8. He started playing guitar at age 12 and became interested in jazz as a teenager after hearing Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and John Abercrombie. Neil has studied at the Banff Jazz Program and Humber College. He is well versed in many musical genres and has played everything from jazz to rock to country music. Neil is an active freelancer, member of the Ambrose Jazz faculty and teaches in Calgary. He has played with the CJO for 7 years.
